Student Activities

Several times per year, seminars and company visits are organized to provide students with more insight in the business world. Seminars take place on-campus or on location and cope with a diversity of up-to-date business topics. Other activities include sport events, soccer practice, visits to local museums, galleries and theatres, city trips and excursions, get-togethers, international culinary evenings, etc.

Some of the activities that were organized this academic year in Belgium and Barcelona:

October

  • Opening of the academic year / welcome drink
  • Seminar: "Structural business networking"; Gazet Van Antwerpen Auditorium

November

  • On-campus seminar on eco-tourism in Kenya by Tina Frisk and Moses Ole Sayalel from the Norwegian organization ‘Basecamp Explorer’
  • Company visit to the brand new mail sorting center "Antwerp X"

December

  • Christmas dinner and get-together

January

  • New Year's drink
  • Seminar by E. vd. Heuvel, Head of Press and Corporate Communications, Mercedes-Benz: "How to put the Mercedes A-Class back on four wheels?"; Gazet Van Antwerpen Auditorium

February

  • Student trip to Athens
  • Seminar by J. Vanaken, CEO, Ovilgy Belgium: "From Big Idea to Big Ideal"; Gazet Van Antwerpen Auditorium
  • Company visit and meeting with the managing director of the Barcelona Hilton Diagonal Mar to discuss hotel operations, marketing and financial management

March

  • Ping-Pong tournament
  • Seminar by J. De Wit, Managing Partner, Duval Guillaume Corporate Belgium: "Managing the worldwide re-branding of INBEV"; company headquarters

April

  • Seminar by J. Vanneste, Managing Director, VLM Airlines: "VLM's strong positioning as an expert in business travel"; Antwerp airport

May

  • Seminar by A. Thys, Managing Partner, FutureLab: "The image problem of the marketeer"; Gazet Van Antwerpen Auditorium
  • Company visit and meeting at the Estrella Damm Brewery in Barcelona
